Is there a double jump in Duskfade?
Yes — plus Dash, Dodge Roll, Grapple, Swing, Glide, and Rail Grind. Unlock order stays TBA.
Duskfade abilities split Jump–Grapple movement from gadgets that spend Temporal Energy. Chronoblast is the shotgun blast. Unlock order and costs stay TBA.
Jump, Dash, and early combat before Grapple. Use the tables below for gadgets, Temporal Energy, and Chronoblast that unlock later.

This Duskfade abilities page is the kit list for Duskfade: a movement chain (Jump → Dash → Grapple → Swing → Glide → Rail Grind) plus gadgets that spend Temporal Energy. New unlocks reopen old Tick Town and biome paths and change combat. Unlock order and energy costs stay TBA. Verified August 16, 2026 · Steam.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Movement chain | Jump · Double Jump · Dash · Dodge Roll · Grapple · Swing · Glide · Rail Grind |
| Gadgets | Blast Attack · Chronoblast · Grapple (combat hook) · others TBA |
| Resource | Temporal Energy — spend on gadgets, refill by dealing damage |
| Switching | Unlocked specials can be swapped in combat |
| Unlocks | New tools open old paths and new fight options — order TBA |
| Progression | No classes. Spend Upgrade Gears on three trees |
| Boss overlap | 25% platform gates need the movement half — bosses |
| Run length | About 11–16 hours main · ~16 hours toward 100% |
Duskfade abilities are not a class list. Movement tools change where Zirian can stand. Gadgets sit on the Temporal Energy bar and fire as specials. Grapple is the overlap: a hook for ledges and a combat interrupt. Sword inputs stay on combat.
| Movement | Role | Exploration door | Combat use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jump / Double Jump | Height and distance | Base ledges | Air strings; stay above slam AoE |
| Dash | Gap + i-frame window in coverage | Air gaps after the first hours | Dodge cancel / reposition |
| Dodge Roll | Ground i-frames / extend a jump | Short floor gaps | Perfect dodge → slow-mo punish |
| Grapple / Swing | Hook points; swing between anchors | Hook ledges you already walked past | Pull to a perch; Wrath centre-charge interrupt |
| Glide | Long drops and wide gaps (Cuckoo / wing-style in coverage) | Long biome crossings | Stay in the air during projectile spreads |
| Rail Grind | Mine / track lines | Track shortcuts and high rails | Shield-adjacent in some writeups — TBA as a block button |
If it spends Temporal Energy, it is a gadget, not a second jump. The gadget table is the next section’s job. Do not merge Blast into “just another dash.”
Minutero is still the only main weapon. Rainbow Ingots change looks. Duskfade abilities will not grow a sword tier list. First-hours chain: beginner guide.
The movement half is what you practise on empty gaps before you spend the bar.
Official materials sell Duskfade as one continuous chain: Jump → Dash → Grapple → Swing → Glide → Combat. Early hours only need the front. Later Duskfade abilities reopen Tick Town alleys you already saw.

| Link | When it fires | Common miss |
|---|---|---|
| Jump → Double Jump | Vertical rooms and floating crumbs | Burning the second jump on a gap Dash would clear |
| Jump → Dash | Horizontal gaps; air dash in coverage | Dashing into a pit instead of a landing |
| Dash → Grapple | Hook after a dash to keep momentum | Looking at the floor instead of the hook spark |
| Grapple → Swing | Multiple anchors in a line | Releasing early and dropping into inkies |
| Glide after a high point | Long biome gaps | Forcing a forest 100% before Glide exists |
| Rail Grind on tracks | Mine / clockwork rails | Treating it as optional flavour — it is a door |
Retail coverage unlocks the hook-shot toward the end of the first world. Demo footage places it on the volcanic path before Wrath. Who hands it over stays TBA — Arpeggio is the music-box NPC, not a confirmed gadget tutor. The moment Grapple exists, walk Tick Town and the last biome again. That is the Metroid-style rule for the whole run.
Roll is the grounded i-frame / jump-extend tool. Dash is the gap tool (air dash in coverage). Perfect dodge on the roll is a combat skill — combat — not a traversal skip.
Some writeups mention wall climb. This page will not add it as a named unlock until a live prompt is captured. Use Jump, Dash, and Grapple for vertical rooms until then.
Movement gets you to the hook. Gadgets spend the bar once you are there.
Gadgets are the combat-and-puzzle half of Duskfade abilities. They spend a Temporal Energy bar that refills when you deal damage. You can switch unlocked specials in combat. Exact costs, cooldowns, and a full official gadget list stay TBA.
| Gadget | Role | Exploration door | Combat use | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blast Attack | Close-range burst | Breakable / gated rooms (TBA) | Spend bar to pop a pack | Demo-confirmed unlock |
| Chronoblast | High-damage time blast (“Shotgun” nickname) | Same family of gated rooms — TBA | Burst on a fat target or boss combat quarter | Named in developer Q&A / footage |
| Grapple (gadget use) | Hook in a fight | Same hooks as traversal | Wrath interrupt; pull toward a marked foe | Demo-confirmed unlock |
| Landmine | Place-and-detonate (coverage) | TBA | TBA — do not invent arming time | Community-observed / TBA |
| Homing | Homing shot / missiles in writeups | TBA | TBA | Community-observed / TBA |
| Time slow | Localized slow in writeups | TBA | TBA — not the same as perfect-dodge slow-mo | Community-observed / TBA |
| Other gadgets | Barrier, charges, ranged shot, “Minotaur Clock Hands” puncture in footage | TBA | TBA | Unverified — do not build a rotation |
Deal damage with Minutero to put energy back on the bar. Standing still after a Blast dump is how a boss combat quarter goes dry. Maxing the bar is the Advanced Clockmaking achievement — a growth goal, not a collectible type. Trees: upgrades.
Unlocked specials can be swapped during a fight. That is not a weapon wheel of swords. Keep one traversal-friendly tool and one burst tool if both exist. Emptying the bar before a 25% gate leaves only Jump.
Chronoblast is the named burst. It gets its own section because searches ask for it by name.
Chronoblast is a high-damage time blast in the Duskfade abilities kit. Developers nicknamed it a shotgun. It is a gadget on Temporal Energy, not a replacement for Minutero and not a confirmed story-key with a published map pin.
| Question | What is captured | What stays TBA |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | High-damage blast / time-energy shotgun nickname | Exact input, AoE radius, damage |
| What it costs | Temporal Energy | Units per shot, regen rate |
| When to fire | Combat quarters, clustered inkies, a boss that is not mid-charge | A “best DPS rotation” |
| When not to fire | During a 25% platform exam that needs Grapple | Whether it can skip a gate (assume no) |
| How you get it | Gadget unlock / tree — not a second sword | Giver, biome, and gear cost |
Do not look for a shotgun item in a loot pool. Chronoblast is the blast gadget the team liked enough to name in Q&A. Blast Attack is the related demo-confirmed burst; whether they are the same node, two ranks, or two skills stays TBA.
Minutero refills the bar. Chronoblast spends it. Fire after a perfect dodge or when a pack clumps — then go back to swings. Boss combat quarters can take a blast; the platform gate still wants Grapple. Fight grammar: bosses.
Footage also names a puncture-style “Minotaur Clock Hands.” Treat extra titles as TBA until this wiki captures the prompt. Spending Upgrade Gears on looks will not unlock Chronoblast.
Once the blast exists, the useful question is which old door it opens — and which fight it changes.

Every new tool in Duskfade is a door and a combat option. That is why this Duskfade abilities page tells you to backtrack after an unlock instead of sprinting to the next chain.

| Unlock | Walk back to… | Fight change |
|---|---|---|
| Dash | Early gaps you dropped into | I-frames / air reposition |
| Grapple | Hook sparks in Tick Town and the last biome | Wrath centre-charge interrupt; pull to marked targets |
| Glide | Long drops you marked and left | Stay airborne in projectile spreads |
| Rail Grind | Track lines in mine / clockwork rooms | Shield-adjacent claims stay TBA |
| Blast / Chronoblast | Breakable or gadget-gated rooms (TBA) | Burst during combat quarters; refill by swinging |
| Later TBA gadgets | Whatever the prompt highlights | Do not invent a landmine or time-slow combo |
Tick Town reopens with the same gadgets as the wilds. Come home after a region, spend gears, then walk the alleys you could not reach. Geography: locations. Story order: walkthrough.
Yes — plus Dash, Dodge Roll, Grapple, Swing, Glide, and Rail Grind. Unlock order stays TBA.
A high-damage gadget / time blast. Developers nicknamed it a shotgun. It spends Temporal Energy. Exact input TBA.
Deal damage. The Temporal Energy bar is not a second health meter. Maxing it is the Advanced Clockmaking achievement.
Unlock order stays TBA. Demo footage places Grapple before Wrath; retail coverage puts it toward the end of the first world. Giver unverified. Backtrack after each new gadget.
They appear in writeups. This page marks them community-observed / TBA and will not invent costs or combos.
No. They open old paths and change fights. Grapple is the Wrath interrupt as well as a hook.
Both. Traversal hooks and combat pulls share the same unlock. Demo lists Blast Attack and Grapple as unlockable abilities.
